Vectorizer

Vectorizer Image editing

Vectorizer.AI is an advanced online tool that leverages artificial intelligence technology to transform bitmap images into vector art. It was created by Cedar Lake Ventures, Inc., a company based in Minneapolis that develops, owns, and operates a portfolio of websites, web-based tools, desktop software, and web APIs. The primary people behind the creation of Vectorizer.AI are James Diebel and Jacob Norda. Diebel initiated the research project leading to Vectorizer.AI as a graduate student at Stanford University.

The tool is proficient at converting JPEG and PNG bitmap images into fully functional vector images in SVG, PDF, and EPS formats. The AI model used by Vectorizer.AI has been developed fully in-house, trained on a proprietary dataset. This deep learning model is equipped to pick out fine details and make sensible predictions even when the pixel data is ambiguous.

The service is superior to traditional vectorization tools, as it enhances the output by fitting whole geometric shapes, cleaning up corners, tangent matching, and curve fairing, among other things. It also features a Vector Graph that ensures inter-shape consistency. The output options for Vectorizer.AI are user-friendly and comprehensive. It produces shapes made up of non-self-intersecting loops, including lines, circular and elliptical arcs, and quadratic and cubic Bézier curves.

Vectorizer.AI also provides an API currently in beta, which allows users to easily integrate its service into their own software or service. Users can post a bitmap image and get a vectorized result back.

As of April 2023, the service is free while in beta. The tool is designed to scale vector images to any resolution without losing quality, making them perfect for printing, cutting, embroidering, and more. The service is under active development with many exciting new features planned [1].
